Description
Chinook has been bred for versatility; It’s aggressive, produces a medium dense cover, and will repair from aerification quickly, but was bred for adaptability for use on tees and fairways as well as greens. It can be blended with other modern varieties of creeping bent. It has a medium dark green color with a finer leaf texture and good density. Developed as a multi-use variety, Chinook is recommended in areas wherever creeping bentgrass is currently in use. Its outstanding heat tolerance and summer performance make it well adapted to the transition zone and the upper south. It is also very winter hardy and can be used successfully in colder northern areas of the US and well into Canada.
